Dignataries storm Ile-ife, as OAU don gives his daughter in marriage

Prof. M. O Opeloye of the department of Religious studies(OAU) on the 2nd of December gives his daughter, Barr. Hameedah a ground breaking Nikkah which was graced by dignataries.

The prof. Of Arabic and islamic studies, who is the immediate past chairman of OAU investment, and also served as commissioner for local government and chieftancy matters under former governor of the state of Osun, Olagunsoye Oyinlola .

The Nikkah which took place at Gitty event center, ife-ibadan road, ile -ife Osun state Nigeria is between Abdur-Ra'fih Martins, a graduate of University of Lagos, and Barr. Hameedah Opeloye ,a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, ile Ife, Osun.

The jamb Registrar who was spotted at OAU central mosque last week Friday where he observed his Jum'ah prayer. It's later revealed that, the jamb boss was purposely around because of the Nikkah. A retinue of dignitaries also graced the August occasion such as, The chief Imam of Ife land, sheikh Sameeh and other islamic clerics from Ife. The chief imam of Unilag, M. A Badmus, and other notable scholars from;  Unilorin, Kwasu, Lasun etc Representatives from FOMWAN, MUSWEN and other renowned societies were also in attendance. Teaching and non teaching staff of Obafemi Awolowo University also stormed the wedding in their large numbers .Royal Fathers also took The "front seats" as they all blessed The union . A serving Senator, Sen. Segun Bamigbetan, and the Founder of Oduduwa University, Ipetumodu Dr. Rahman Adedoyin was among the dignitaries.

The chief Imam of OAU, Prof. Sanusi Abefe who delivered lecture advised the couples to see theirselves as one and also urged them to tolerate each other regardless of what may transpire between them.

The chief Imam of ile-Ife joined The couples together with The permission from both parents, as The duo endorsed The union. The groom presents  dowry and hands it over to the  bride, this and many others Nikkah(marriage) rites were carried out by The chief Imam of Ife, Sheikh Sameeh .

The Nikkah was wrapped up with votes of thanks .

9th Assembly: NASS Introduces Stringent Conditions For Journalists’ Accreditation

Ahead of the inauguration of ninth assembly, the National Assembly management has released 20 stringent conditions for journalists and media houses’ accreditation. In two separate letters addressed to the chairmen of Senate and House of Representatives Press Corps on Monday by the Director of Information, Agada Emmanuel, the requirements were categorised under permanent and temporary accreditation. According to the letters, this new accreditation guidelines shall come into effect from June 11, 2019. The prerequisites for the coverage of the activities of the National Assembly before the expiration of the present leadership was also aimed at reducing the number of journalists covering the legislative arm.
