ELECTION HAS GONE, POLITICKING MUST BE BURIED... BY HON. MAN PEA

ELECTION HAS GONE, POLITICKING MUST BE BURIED

"By: Hon. Man Pea_"

While avoiding interminable fits of tergiversation, I cannot but acknowledge the imperishable saying of an icon,
Chris Hadfield, who said in his words that 'Ultimately, leadership is not about glorious crowning acts. It's about keeping your team focused on a goal and motivated to do their best to achieve it, especially when the stakes are high and the consequences really matter.' It is about laying the groundwork for others' success, and then standing back and letting them shine.
However, it can be said to be the capacity and the will to rally men and women to a common purpose and the character which inspires confidence.
This is to categorically tell you all that your resounding 'successes' at the just concluded Department of Science and Technology Students Association election is never the end, but in fact, the very beginning of a series of life albatrosses, which either ends with a praise or cotton-picking opprobrium.

I find it expedient to state this at this point, that you should extend an olive branch to all co-contestants and all the behind-the-scenes political opponents to ensure a collective consensus at working for the betterment of this Association. It is pertinent that you all stand on guard while guarding against political gluttons and to all that are ready to even lick your shoes and sing your praises all for personal aggrandizement.

However, Remember the late General Sanni Abacha was celebrated just as you are being celebrated but ended up with fathomless shame for himself and his generation. Try and make sure all your manifestos are executed. The latin maxim is right: Dictis factis suppetant(Let deeds correspond to words). All your electorates are looking up to you as the long awaited leaders and saviours of this great department.
Congratulations on a your hard-earned and thoroughly deserved victory.

_*"To: Mr Yusuff Afeez O. (Sir Useful) The President Elect."*_
Once again congratulations sir, it an undeniable and unarguable fact that your success at the just concluded election was never a product of circumstance but a product of collective decisions made by futuristic young men and ladies who has foreseen how blessed this great department would be if elected as the President, I pray and hope the electorates will never be disappointed and have any reason to regret ever electing you as the President. You've always being positioned as a leader right from your elementary school days, you're here to lead again and I pray you shall continue to lead in all aspects of life. However, I will beseech you to remember that all your manifestos are as self defeating as that of your Co-aspirants and on this note, I will advise you not to do this alone as two good heads are better than one. Once again I say congratulations to you sir.

_*"To: The Hon. Kay : A brother, A friend, colleague, A leader"*_
It is crystal clear that you're a leader, I have to commend the sportsmanship and the spirit of leadership you displayed before, during and after the election. I must tell you this, that the only person who did prove such level of maturity is the Frm. President of this Country Dr. GEJ. You've always represent this great Department well at the level of the Faculty, your presence at the ESRC has always been impactful among ESRC members from other consistuencies and we've always been proud to have you there.
To me you're a leader and a winner and not even a runner up,  this is because of so many things you've done, you're doing and I believe you will continue to do for the greatness of this Department. I say congratulations sir.

_*"To: Salami Rahman: A friend, A brother, A colleague and A Capacity Leader."*_
I know you to be a man of your words and you did prove it again, congratulations on the success of your men Sir Useful  as *"STESA President Elect and Doyinmola as ACJOAU President Elect"*, you said it and you did it, now I see how great it is working with you. You're indeed a perfect description of a good leader. Wish you all the best in your endeavors.

_*"To: BUNDUGOLD A lady like a Man*"_
How do I describe her? A lady like a man, a good and perfect example of princess and a lady with high sense of humor. Though,  we may be having differences but believe me, have never been moved or taken any of it serious or against you. Your impact in the just concluded election is also commendable as your late hour decision and system of campaigning changed so many persons who has wanted to stay neutral, never wanted to come out to vote and even stopped them from being neutral, the likes of *"Rammoney, Demmy, 006 and even Me"* that shows how influential and powerful you're and how you're worthy of turning things upside down overnight.
As a lady of virtue with high level of integrity I really appreciate you,  even though there were rumour that your late hour decision was not borne out of the efficiency and the competency of the "then aspirants" but borne out of your own *"Mouth-ficiency"* and *"Pocket-ency"*which I never believed. But all the same I must commend you for all. I will miss you a lot.

*"To: Electoral Committee Members"*
As the former Electoral Committee Chairman of the Faculty of Education I must commend you guys for the job well done. No one is perfect but you did worked toward perfection. Thanks for not disappointing us. To the Electoral Chairman "Ogbaro Temitope" thanks for holding your team firm and for conducting a free, fair and credible election. As a friend I will however advise you to always yield and ready to be corrected whenever the need arises as that was what almost made all your effort fruitless. All the same thanks for the job well done history will never forget you.

Lastly to all stesites that contributed to the success of the electioneering process it's important to know that, the work is a collective responsibility and not to be subjected to the executives alone. Tell them their mistakes anytime they do anything wrong and not to others who never knew when the mistake was made.

Once again congratulations to everyone that did participate in the just concluded election.
