Bomb goes off outside borno NDLEA headquarter


A suspected suicide bomber struck outside the headquarters of the Borno state command of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Sunday.

The command is located in the Muna area of Maiduguri, the state capital.

A source told TheCable that two female suicide bombers were responsible for the attack. The source said only one was able to detonate her explosive before security operatives moved in.

The other suspect was reportedly shot dead.

The incident happened around 6:30pm.

Victor Isuku, spokesman of the Borno police command, said operatives from the explosive ordinance explosive disposal unit of the police have been sent to the scene.

Suicide attacks is one of the main challenges confronting security agents on the frontline of the war against insurgency.
