Elujoba is 'working' O.A.U is 'sinking' ...

The name Elujoba was making waves within his faculty (pharmacy),and her sister faculties,before his emergence as the acting VC about a couple of months ago,after NASU,and SSANU,OAU chapter declared war on the immediate past VC over their unpaid allowance,this agitation was what produced Elujoba as an Acting VC of Obafemi Awolowo University.

The emergence of Elujoba as the acting VC of O.AU attracted many conscious members of the university community, as a large percentage express their pleasure,and they repose their believes on him as some one who will swim with the tide of 'change' which is the mantra of the current political dispensation of Buhari led administration,even though teeming Nigerians are regretting the day they voted in Buhari as the President of federal republic of Nigerian owning to the myriads of difficulties in the land,and the 'shallow' approach APC led administration is employing to fix the sinking economy.

Upon the emergence of Elujoba as the Number 1 citizen of the 'state' of O.A.U,he  made some many 'publicity stunts' as he was seen kneeling down for God who engineered his emergence,he made a cosmetic visit to Awolowo hall of residence,though the hall is believed by every Tom,Dick and Harry on OAU soil  to be the capital of the 'state' OAU owning to some uniqueness of the occupants of the hall,I tagged it cosmetic visit,because till this moment there is no RADICAL CHANGE in the hall,as the hall dilapidated building is yet to wear a new look,and this is also apply to other halls of residence as they are all " weeping" for renovation which they have not experienced since the day it was built,as many of the outgone VCs played politics with the renovation,despite the mouth watering IGR(internally generated revenue) generated by the school.

Among the 'publicity stunt' made by the VC was the promise he made to meet with the generality of O.A.U students,though his schedule might be tight,but a least a convincing step ought to have been taken to show his readiness,but the VC made a U-turn in an interview granted by the convener of OAU pigeonpost,as the tone of meeting students is likely to be substituted for the visitation of hall before the commencement of examination,even the students are yet to feel the Radical renovation he(the VC ) promised.

Two major  problems the incumbent VC inherited are erratic power supply,and intermittent flowing of water to the 'blocks' these two perennial problems keep sinking the greatness of O.A.U despite the change of leadership of the university management,as some students that are not used to go to the 'Jupiter' to get water are now subjected to do so,because of the ineptitude of the management. A release was pasted on 24th of September 2016 to the halls of residence that there will be power outage on the 26th of September, and it will be restored on the 27th of September, while students are anticipating this to come to pass,the management in its erratic nature took of this light on 24th of September in the afternoon without any prior notice to this ugly development.

With this one can convincingly say Elujoba is "working",and the greatness of OAU is shrinking to that effect,as University of Ibadan continues to waxing stronger in the academic rankings while her counterpart OAU is in the state of comatose. As an objective writer one major thing I see in Elujoba led administration is the  rapid process of the newly graduated students as their results are rapidly being processed which is against the normal trend, this is the only visible change in Elujoba led administration as at of now.
I hereby urge the VC to prove his critics wrong by embarking on students friendly projects and policies,for history to be kind to his generation as the most productive VC in OAU despite the time frame of his administration.

9th Assembly: NASS Introduces Stringent Conditions For Journalists’ Accreditation

Ahead of the inauguration of ninth assembly, the National Assembly management has released 20 stringent conditions for journalists and media houses’ accreditation. In two separate letters addressed to the chairmen of Senate and House of Representatives Press Corps on Monday by the Director of Information, Agada Emmanuel, the requirements were categorised under permanent and temporary accreditation. According to the letters, this new accreditation guidelines shall come into effect from June 11, 2019. The prerequisites for the coverage of the activities of the National Assembly before the expiration of the present leadership was also aimed at reducing the number of journalists covering the legislative arm.
