OAU: AGGRIEVED PARTY PETITIONS Ag.Vc OVER PRODUCTIVITY BONUS.

The payment of productivity bonus which was doled out recently by Elujoba led administration recently, infuriated some loyalists to the former VC(Prof. Omole), their displeasure on the payment made them to write a petition against the Ag. VC on the legality of the source of the money, as the aggrieved members claimed that the money was paid from the wrong source .

In a bid to debunk the claims of the aggrieved party, the SSANU and her sister union, NASU leadership ordered her members to troop out en masse in order to make their stance known at the University senate building that the source of the money is legal. One of the staff who was  also at the Senate building, but didn't want her name to be on the print said, "we are aware that the forces behind the petition are the loyalists to the former VC who are not happy with the current administration." Based on this,it's glaring that the two unions are ready to stand with the Ag. VC, as they claim that the petition won't hold water. Efforts to reach the leadership of SSANU and NASU proved abortive,as at the time of gathering this report.

9th Assembly: NASS Introduces Stringent Conditions For Journalists’ Accreditation

Ahead of the inauguration of ninth assembly, the National Assembly management has released 20 stringent conditions for journalists and media houses’ accreditation. In two separate letters addressed to the chairmen of Senate and House of Representatives Press Corps on Monday by the Director of Information, Agada Emmanuel, the requirements were categorised under permanent and temporary accreditation. According to the letters, this new accreditation guidelines shall come into effect from June 11, 2019. The prerequisites for the coverage of the activities of the National Assembly before the expiration of the present leadership was also aimed at reducing the number of journalists covering the legislative arm.
