APC constitutes committee on restructuring debate

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has set up a committee to advise it on calls by Nigerians for restructuring of the country. The party said it has noted that with various agitations on restructuring, the concept has assumed several disparate meanings. In a statement signed by APC spokesperson Malam Bolaji Abdullahi Wednesday evening, the party said in the light of this, at its fifth regular joint APC National Working Committee (NWC) /APC Governors meeting held today, a committee was set up to articulate the Party’s notion on restructuring. Members of the Committee as contained in the APC State are: Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir el-rufai (Chairman) Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola Governor of Kano, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong Governor of Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun Former Governor of Edo State, Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor APC National Organising Secretary, Sen. 9th Assembly: NASS Introduces Stringent Conditions For Journalists’ Accreditation

Ahead of the inauguration of ninth assembly, the National Assembly management has released 20 stringent conditions for journalists and media houses’ accreditation. In two separate letters addressed to the chairmen of Senate and House of Representatives Press Corps on Monday by the Director of Information, Agada Emmanuel, the requirements were categorised under permanent and temporary accreditation. According to the letters, this new accreditation guidelines shall come into effect from June 11, 2019. The prerequisites for the coverage of the activities of the National Assembly before the expiration of the present leadership was also aimed at reducing the number of journalists covering the legislative arm. Sri Lanka: Buddhist leader stokes anti-Muslim tension A manhunt is on in Sri Lanka for a hard-line Buddhist leader after a series of attacks on mosques and Muslim-owned businesses that authorities accuse him of encouraging.
