OAU : Health centre changes its mode of operations
Obafemi Awolowo University health centre have been in the news for some weeks ago over the release which says, stale students who are yet to register will be responsible for their medical Bill, this release generated a lot of debate among the rank and file of Awo Varsity students ,the tide of the debate later stemmed by the Union officers who condemned the directive in its entirety.
Based on what's known to the stakeholders in the university in regards to how patients are being attended to,the normal clinic hours is between 8am - 2pm, registered students who need medical attention do visit the health centre within this hours,where by such student is expected to put down the names and other things on the card, so that the officers in charge will be able to locate the medical file, and then take it to the doctors on duty. This step favors the registered students.
The unregistered students(also registered students) usually visit the health centre after the clinic hours, because during this hours there is no need for students to put down their names anywhere,the major thing such student must have with him or her is any means of identification, preferably, the school identity card.
Based on a verifiable fact by our correspondent, the management of the health centre have now directed their officials to extends the step taken within the clinic hours, that is, students are now expected to put down their names at the records section of the health centre in other to locate their files, regard less of the visiting hours. And students that are yet to register or complete their registrations will be given a form to fill, before such patients will be attended to. Students are hereby urged to take note of thi
