OAU IS RESOLVED TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT AT ALL TIMES - PROFESSOR TOPE OGUNBODEDE

After the bail hearing of ex acting VC of Obafemi Awolowo University Ile - Ife, Prof. Anthony Elujoba in Osogbo where he was granted bail based on self recognition, he proceeded to Our Lady of Perpetual Light Catholic Church to offer his thanksgiving to God and afterwards proceeded to the school's Amphitheater to thank all those who solidarised and stood by him throughout the time he was in EFCC custody and also to address them.

However, the VC of OAU, Prof. Tope Ogunbodede was asked to speak on his behalf, he said "a few days ago we never thought this was going to be possible but we know that with God all things are possible"
"OAU is resolved to do what is right at all times and there is no going back" as staffs began to shout "don't join them, don't join them, don't join them"

In reply to the chants, he said "let me assure you because I can hear you singing that I should not join them, so I want to officially tell you today that, this is my 40th year in this University. I came to this university in 1977, so you know my antecedents. Have I ever joined them?"
He further stated "anybody who has ever been a witness of what has happened on this campus in the last one and a half years will never join them."

He said "all through this process, there had never been any casualty, it is because of your maturity, it is because of your comportment and it is because of the way you have handled this situation and I personally want to commend you for what you have done and I want to please appeal to you that we should never allow anybody to provoke us and that we should continue to act with maturity and I also want to assure you that God is on the side of Obafemi Awolowo University."
"so in whatever we want to do in order to give honour to Professor Anthony Elujoba, we should always remember that God Almighty is there to fight our course."

9th Assembly: NASS Introduces Stringent Conditions For Journalists’ Accreditation

Ahead of the inauguration of ninth assembly, the National Assembly management has released 20 stringent conditions for journalists and media houses’ accreditation. In two separate letters addressed to the chairmen of Senate and House of Representatives Press Corps on Monday by the Director of Information, Agada Emmanuel, the requirements were categorised under permanent and temporary accreditation. According to the letters, this new accreditation guidelines shall come into effect from June 11, 2019. The prerequisites for the coverage of the activities of the National Assembly before the expiration of the present leadership was also aimed at reducing the number of journalists covering the legislative arm.
