IGBINEDION UNIVERSITY HONOURS OLUWO WITH DOCTORATE DEGREE By Ogundokun Doyinmola Joshua  The premier private university, Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State, will confer the Honorary Doctorate degree on the Oluwo of Iwo, HIM Oba (Dr.) Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi. The choice, according to the university management , is in acknowledgement of a throne committed to serving humanity and his contribution to academic excellence in Nigeria. The cause of this brouhaha, as was gathered by our correspondent, who was present at the scene is as a result of a sharing formula adopted by the Federal Government in the allocation of annual allowance worth #23billion sent to universities in the country. There has been anxiety among Obafemi Awolowo University students over the resumption date for the new academic session(2017/2018) . Indications from all angles suggest that the earlier date for the resumption which is April 3rd,and 16th for fresh students and returning students respectively might have been tampered based on some development in the institution. The university is yet to make official announcement to this effect. Below is the proposed academic calendar, as 'spotted' by our correspondent.
