Kemi Olunloyo Finally regains freedom

Controversial blogger Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo, a social media enthusiast, and daughter of a former governor of Old Oyo State, Omololu Olunloyo, has finally been released from prison.

Lawyer, lecturer and rights activist Olukayode Ajulo confirmed her release on Monday.

He tweeted: “Ms. Kemi Olunloyo takes fresh breath of freedom! Thank you all…"

The Nigeria police in March arrested and charged Ms. Olunloyo with cyber crime on account of a recent post in which she accused David Ibiyeomie, a pastor based in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, of adultery.

In an Instagram post she made, Ms. Olunloyo disclosed that the police arrested her in Port Harcourt and detained her after the pastor complained that she defamed his character.

Ms. Olunloyo had posted a letter written by a member of Mr. Ibiyeomie’s church in which the pastor was accused of a series of misconduct, including infidelities.
