POWER OUTAGE: FAJUYIANS BATTLE FOR SURVIVAL,AS THEY PREPARE FOOD WITH FIREWOOD

Barely 20hours after Adekunle Fajuyi hall's power supply was interrupted in the early hour on Monday, as a result of electrical glitches somewhere around the hall of residence, the price of kerosene which supposes to be alternative to the status quo got skyrocketed, even the chance of getting it at residential butteries gets slimmer.

However, this ugly incident forced the hall residents to looking after a better alternative. While some of them went for lectures with snacks, some drank "garri" to 'fill up their bellies' in the hope that the light would be restored before the sun sets. But after the lost of hope, at about 7:45pm, at annex block A and B some students were spotted preparing their respective dinners with firewood or wood chips, for the consequence of nothing but of a total black out in the hall of residence.

The students however urge those at the helm of Fajuyi hall to reach out to the concerned body so  that the problem won't linger than expected.

9th Assembly: NASS Introduces Stringent Conditions For Journalists’ Accreditation

Ahead of the inauguration of ninth assembly, the National Assembly management has released 20 stringent conditions for journalists and media houses’ accreditation. In two separate letters addressed to the chairmen of Senate and House of Representatives Press Corps on Monday by the Director of Information, Agada Emmanuel, the requirements were categorised under permanent and temporary accreditation. According to the letters, this new accreditation guidelines shall come into effect from June 11, 2019. The prerequisites for the coverage of the activities of the National Assembly before the expiration of the present leadership was also aimed at reducing the number of journalists covering the legislative arm.
