 ALCOHOL IN BIOCHEMISTRY LAB OAU

To avoid making my eloquence too ambiguous with medical terms...i will concentrate more on the physiological benefits rather than the mechanisms of  reactions..but few mechanisms i may provide..

Aim: To  ascertain the fluctuations and effects of ph on foods

Concepts of writing:..few medical term ologies will be explained

Result of the experiment:..its was established that garri (to kan )and alcohol has a very  close ph values.Also that the ph values of carbonated drinks is lower..

Explanation on the experiment:

Fermentations simply means an anaerobic biochemical conversion of carbohydrate food (sugar) into organic acid by micro organism wit the evolution of co2..

Avoiding too much terminologies, the experiment conducted can be explained in various ways..but here am typing one(the most primitive way to comprehend)....ph range of improper fermented garri and alcohol  can be very close because the purpose of fermentation is to regenerate coenzyme molecule(NAD+) and through glycolysis process high energy can be released inform of ATP with the release of co2...but if not properly fermented there will be higher than Co2 which then trigger up d acidity of the food(don't forget co2 is an acidic gas)....(all this names are not important) with too much of this acidity,or accumulation can  produce an high alteration in d chemistry of the  blood ph from 7.4 to less than  that within a physiological limit(all these names are not important jare)

    Effects:
....effect in the mouth:...scientists claim that the strongest bone in d body is enamel of the tooth...fine,..excess intake of acidic food,improper fermented garri(garri to kan),carbonated drinks,acidic beverages damage the enamel and weaken d gums of the tooth
 
Effects of Gut system(git):git tends to acquire more electrolyte from other body systems like bone,kidney tubular cells and d likes so as to neutralise the acidic content in gut which automatically leads to breaking down of bones(osteoporosis),blockage of cardiovascular system,joint pains,fatigue etc

General body systems it's a general concepts that naturally our biological systems produce toxin products per day and some free radicals..which are neutralized by d electrolyte in d blood..ingesting acidic foods accelerate this toxic products,overloading the system with acidic substances..which then result in cancer/tumor,circulatory shock,premature aging and sudden death

How can i  neutralize this acidity

Disdain from garri ki kan(improper fermented garri)
The best form of "drinks" is water (not carbonated drinks-full details on this later)
Drink more alkaline water
Take more of fruit juice...expecially watermelon Nutritionists claim it contains 96% of fluid with (electrolyte)which helps to neutralize free radicals,increase git motility,prevent dehydration of gut and all jazz..(full gist later)



Lets aware our parents from" garri ijebu to kan"...and the "jayejaye" boy that loves too much carbonated drinks...they  are not physiologically and biochemically okay  for the chemistry of the body system...
